DENVER — Greg MacDonald, president of Quiznos Canada for the past four years, has been promoted to president of Quiznos effective in July. He succeeds Dave Deno, who resigned in February due to personal reasons.

Mr. MacDonald joined Quiznos in 1998, and has worked in various marketing and development positions until being named president of Quiznos Canada in 2005. Under his leadership, Quiznos said chain-wide sales in Canada rose more than 20% in four years and franchise owner profitability among Canadian stores more than doubled. In addition, the number of restaurants in Canada grew by more than 20% during his tenure.

"Moving forward, we will continue with our promise of offering the best tasting subs, salads and soups in the marketplace at a price that everyone in America can afford," Mr. MacDonald said. "By staying true to our core brand attributes and becoming more accessible to the average consumer, we can create the best run our franchise owners and business partners have ever seen."
