Ajinomoto opens application center

CHICAGO — Ajinomoto Food Ingredients L.L.C. dedicated its Application Center North America, which is an expansion of its North American headquarters in Chicago, on Aug. 3. Work at the center will seek to develop and expand food and beverage applications for Ajinomoto technologies. Initial focus will be on the four areas of salt reduction, sugar replacement, textural improvement and incorporation of ingredients to improve health.
The center includes a new analytical laboratory. Jiro Sakamoto, executive director, Business Development & Application Innovation, will lead the center.
