Joseph Ennen to Safeway s.v.p. of corporate brands

PLEASANTON, CALIF. — Joseph Ennen has been named senior vice-president of corporate brands for Safeway, Inc. In his new position, Mr. Ennen will be responsible for the company’s corporate brands in the areas of marketing, finance and outside sales.
Mr. Ennen comes to Safeway from Frito-Lay North America, Inc., a division of PepsiCo, Inc., where he was group vice-president of innovation. In that capacity, he was responsible for leading the entire innovation development cycle for Frito Lay North America from identifying strategic opportunities to product launch.
"Joe’s extensive C.P.G. experience and track record as a marketer and innovator make him uniquely suited to lead Safeway’s consumer brands business," said Mike Minasi, Safeway’s president of marketing.
