J.V. to focus on clean labels for meat products

MARKOVCI, SLOVENIA — Vitiva and Food Quality, Inc. have formed a joint venture called FutureMeat. The new consulting, marketing and sales company will offer natural solutions and custom-made blends for various meat applications that bear clean labels.
"The new company strategy is to assist fresh meat and poultry manufacturers with exclusive natural solutions in order to reduce costs, increase yield, improve quality and reach higher production efficacy without compromising on the quality of products," said Ohad Cohen, chief executive officer of Markovci-based Vitiva.
Vitiva provides application-specific solutions based on natural extracts for the food, cosmetic and nutraceutical industries. Its portfolio includes VivOX, Inolens, AquaRox and SyneRox products. Food Quality Inc., based in Iceland, targets the fish industry and provides technology to protect fish color, extend shelf life and improve productivity and food quality.
