New board directors named at N.R.A. meeting

WASHINGTON — Michael Gibbons, Sally J. Smith and Rosalyn Mallet have been elected to new positions on the board of directors of the National Restaurant Association. The announcements were made as part of the N.R.A.’s September board meeting in Washington.

Mr. Gibbons, president and chief executive officer of Mainstreet Ventures, Inc., Ann Arbor, Mich., was named chairman. He has been a member of the N.R.A. board since 2000, and previously he held the positions of vice-chairman and treasurer, as well as being a member of the board of trustees of the N.R.A. Educational Foundation.

Ms. Smith, president and c.e.o. of Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc., Minneapolis, was named vice-chairman. She joined the N.R.A. board in 2002 and most recently was treasurer.

Ms. Mallet, president and c.e.o. of PhaseNext Hospitality, Plano, Texas, was elected treasurer. She has been a member of the N.R.A. board since 2004, and she also is a member of the board of trustees of the N.R.A. Educational Foundation.

All three posts are volunteer positions with terms that will expire in January 2011.
