HOUSTON — Windsor Foods, Inc. and Jim Beam Bourbon are introducing a ready-to-serve gourmet chopped barbecue brisket to the food service market.
"We are excited about teaming up with Jim Beam again to bring another original recipe gourmet product to the marketplace," said Lorena Cantu, Asian and chili/BBQ product manager for Windsor Foods. "Jim Bean Chopped Barbecue Brisket is a very special product crafted with tender, smoked briskets that are chopped — not shredded — to impart a chunky texture. Then we smother it in a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce flavored with Jim Beam Bourbon."
Food service operators may serve the gourmet chopped brisket heated straight from its 5-lb tub or add fresh ingredients to make it a signature menu item.
"Jim Beam produces the world’s finest bourbon whiskey, and Windsor is famous in the food service industry for its delicious, frozen, heat-and-serve barbecue," said Kelly Doss, senior director of bourbon and whiskeys for Beam Global Spirits and Wine. "With these two category-leading brands, Windsor has developed a gourmet barbecue that’s easy for operators to prepare and market."
