MEMPHIS, TENN. — Perkins Restaurants & Bakeries on Oct. 19 unveiled a new menu design featuring 25 new entrees, including five "Calorie Counter" options.
"While our menu still features those tried and true items that guests have come to expect at their local Perkins, it also offers more variety than ever before across every daypart," said Cheryl Ahlbrandt, senior vice-president of marketing and research and development.
Debuting on the new menu are 10 new breakfast items, two biscuit platters, a burger line, melts, appetizers, salads and low-calorie options. The "Calorie Counter" options include a Florentine Benedict, a Border Grilled Chicken Omelette, an Energizer Wrap made with a mixture of vegetables and EggBeaters, and the island Tilapia and Honey Dijon Salmon Dinners.
In addition, the restaurant chain now offers a separate bakery menu that features items including cream pies, fruit pies, muffins and "to-go" products.
"All elements of the new menu are a direct result of feedback obtained from focus groups conducted over the past year with Perkins guests," Ms. Ahlbrandt said.
