Symrise names c.f.o.

HOLZMINDEN, GERMANY — Bernd Hirsch has been named chief financial officer for Symrise AG, effective Dec. 1, by the company’s supervisory board. He previously was c.f.o. at Carl Zeiss Meditec, AG, a global market leader in ophthalmology and microsurgery systems and based in Jena, Germany.
Mr. Hirsch received a business degree from the University of Wurzburg in Germany and worked as the head of auditing at auditing company Arthur Andersen before joining Carl Zeiss AG. He will replace Dominique Yates as c.f.o. of Symrise AG, based in Holzminden and a global supplier of fragrances, flavorings, raw materials and active ingredients for the perfume, cosmetics and food industry. Mr. Yates will leave the company at his own request at the end of the year.
