YORK, PA. — Lifestyle Foods has added to its chilled grab-and-go line with the launch of three soup and salad offerings and an oatmeal kit.
The soup and salad offerings, which contain less than 125 calories each, include: chicken noodle soup paired with a Caesar salad and light Caesar dressing; a vegetarian vegetable soup joined by a garden salad with light ranch dressing; and a tomato basil soup paired with a garden salad with light Italian dressing.
Lifestyle Foods said the company reformulated the salad dressings to remove all preservatives, and replaced traditional salt with natural sea salt. Additionally, Greek yogurt has been added in the tomato basil soup as an extra source of protein without added sugar and carbohydrates.
The oatmeal kit includes oatmeal, apples, raisins, and turbinado sugar. The oatmeal contains steel cut oats, which are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates, providing twice the amount of protein as found in brown rice, the company said.
“It was a joint effort in development amongst our team,” said Jason Bross, founder and chief executive officer of Lifestyle Foods. “We wanted to come up with something simple, yet isn’t being done yet.”
