Wixon hires corporate chef

ST. FRANCIS, WIS. — Mathew Freistadt has been named corporate chef at Wixon, Inc., St. Francis. His responsibilities include researching and developing products that meet market and menu trends as well as directing culinary and technical presentations of the company’s services to selected accounts. Mr. Freistadt will partner with Wixon’s team of technologists and chemists and give advice on food and beverage projects to improve, taste, texture and appearance for customer sample requests.
Mr. Freistadt, a 1995 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, previously served as director of research and development for Protein Solutions in Chicago. He has held product development positions with Sensient Flavors and LongHorn Steakhouse. Mr. Freistadt is a member of the Research Chefs Association and the Kansas City Barbecue Society.
