GLENDALE, CALIF. — Wonka, a Nestle USA brand, has introduced Exceptionals, chocolate and fruit-flavored confections that represent the company’s first step into the premium category. The new line features the Scrumdiddlyumptious Chocolate Bar that is made with bits of toffee, cookies and peanuts wrapped in milk chocolate; the Chocolate Waterfall Bar that is a combination of white chocolate and milk chocolate; and the Domed Dark Chocolate Bar that is made with dark chocolate and topped with chocolate drops.
Also included in the Exceptionals line are Wonka Fruit Jellies and Wonka Fruit Marvels. The Fruit Jellies feature flavors such as grapefruit, and red apple and goji berry. The Fruit Marvels are hard candies with soft centers and dusted with sugar. Flavors in the line include Clementine orange and white grape and pomegranate. The candies are made with natural ingredients, no artificial colors and are 25% real fruit juice, according to the company.
The chocolates are scheduled to appear in stores nationwide beginning March 1 with a suggested retail price of $2.39 for each 3.5-oz tablet bar and $4.29 for each 8.5-oz to 9.5-oz bag of minis. The Fruit Jellies and Fruit Marvels will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. stores beginning in April and Target stores beginning in June for a suggested retail price of $2.99 for each 5-oz box, and $1.99 for each 1.9-oz tin.
