Bubba Foods to acquire new plant

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — Bubba Foods, L.L.C. has entered an agreement to purchase the Armour-Eckrich production plant in Hastings, Neb.

Bubba Foods produces and sells the Bubba burger.

“The Bubba burger continues to experience tremendous growth in demand as the No. 1 selling frozen burger in the U.S.,” said Billy Morris, president and chief executive officer. “The acquisition of the plant in Hastings, Neb., will allow us to meet the strong demand for the Bubba burger in the Midwest and West coast of our nation.”

The company plans to invest more than $11 million in the acquisition and renovation of the plan. In addition, the company is in the middle of a $7.7 million expansion of its Elberton, Ga., plant to double its size.
