AUSTIN, TEXAS — The board of directors of Sweet Leaf Tea has named Dan Costello as chief executive officer. He succeeds Clayton Christopher, who founded Sweet Leaf Tea in 1998 but is stepping down to take another opportunity in the beverage industry.
“It’s an exciting time to be at Sweet Leaf Tea,” said Mr. Costello, who has been president of the company since last year. “Clayton built an incredibly dynamic company with hard-working and dedicated employees and a strong commitment to creating the best tasting, highest-quality teas. We’re able to grow this company and bring more of our natural teas and flavored beverages to more people across the country because of his tremendous effort and vision. I, along with everyone at Sweet Leaf Tea, look forward to helping the company continue its path to becoming a well-known, national brand.”
Prior to joining Sweet Leaf Tea, Mr. Costello spent 17 years at Nestle, most recently as general manager with Nestle Waters North America. Earlier he was an operations manager for Frito-Lay.
