LAKEVILLE-MIDDLEBORO, MASS. — Ocean Spray plans to launch a pomegranate variety of its BerryFusions Fruits at IFT 10, the Institute of Food Technologists’ annual meeting and food exposition scheduled for July 17-20 in Chicago.
BerryFusions Fruits have been shown to add fruit appeal to such applications as baked foods, cereal, dairy products, snacks and confectionery items. The line already features strawberry, raspberry, cherry, blueberry and mango varieties.
“Our existing flavors cater to traditional tastes, but the more exotic pomegranate was a logical choice for us, given our record of combining tradition and heritage with innovation and a forward-thinking approach,” said Kristen Borsari, global senior marketing manager for Ocean Spray. “We’ve seen demand for different flavors grow as consumers have become more receptive to new and different tastes. This newest BerryFusion brings refreshing choice and endless possibilities to new and existing dried fruit customers.”
