Diamond adding Emerald, Pop Secret flavors

SAN FRANCISCO — Diamond Foods, Inc. will extend its Emerald snack nuts and Pop Secret popcorn product lines this summer. Under the Emerald brand the company will introduce two Cinnamon Roast Almond products. The company said the Cinnamon Roast product will build on the successful launch of its Cocoa Roast Almond product.
“Cinnamon Roast Almonds is a logical extension for us,” said Jeff Ngo, Emerald brand marketing director for Diamond Foods. “The almond segment is the highest growth category in snack nuts and cinnamon has broad appeal as a key ingredient across a variety of food occasions and segments. Given the success of Cocoa Roast Almonds, we felt it was a good time to expand our Roasted line.”
Diamond’s Pop Secret brand is introducing 94% Fat Free Butter and 94% Fat Free Kettle Corn flavors in four-count 100 calorie packs this summer.
All of the line extensions are expected to start shipping to retailers in August, according to the company.
