BOULDER, COLO. — EVOL Burritos, a maker of made-from-scratch, natural and organic frozen burritos, has launched a line of 3-oz mini burritos.
“Research continues to show us the nutritional and metabolic benefits of moving from three large meals a day to five smaller snacking meals per day, yet we found there’s nothing in the freezer section that meets this demand,” said Philip Anson, founder and chief operating officer of EVOL Burrito. “We created mini burritos as a healthy, portable and delicious snack option that can be prepared in 45 seconds to grab and take on the go without ever having to set foot near a vending machine or drive-thru.”
Each mini burrito has 5 to 8 grams of protein and less than 190 calories. In addition, each mini burrito is individually packaged and microwavable in under 1 minute.
Available at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide beginning in August, the snack-sized burritos are packaged 16 to a case and are available for purchase individually or in bulk if five varieties: chicken, bean and rice; shredded beef; bean and cheddar; veggie fajita; and chicken and black bean. The burritos have a suggested retail price of $1.59 per unit or $19.99 per case.
