Genistein ingredient has self-affirmed GRAS status

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — geniVida, a soy-free genistein from DSM Nutritional Products, Inc., has received self-affirmed Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) status for use in food and beverage applications intended for mature men and women, according to DSM, which has a U.S. office in Parsippany. Research has shown geniVida reduces menopausal symptoms, according to DSM. It exerts estrogen-like regulation of bone metabolism and assists in the bone remodeling process.
