Norman Abdallah joins Romano's as c.e.o.

DALLAS — Norman Abdallah has been named chief executive officer of Romano’s Macaroni Grill. He succeeds Brad Blum, who has left the company to pursue other interests.

Mr. Abdallah most recently was president and c.e.o. of Restaurants Unlimited, Inc., which operates 48 restaurants in 11 states. He earlier was senior vice-president and chairman of Egypt-based Amer International. He earlier co-founded Fired Up, Inc., an Austin, Texas-based operator and franchiser of more than 160 Carino’s Italian Grill restaurants in more than 25 states. He also worked for Brinker International in Dallas.

In addition to Mr. Abdallah, Carey Carrington has been named chief financial officer. He succeeds Bob Mock, who has left the company.

Mr. Carrington previously was vice-chairman and chief administrative officer of Amer International. Earlier, he was president and c.f.o. of Fired Up, senior vice-president of finance for Applebee’s International, and served as interim president, executive vice-president and c.f.o. of California Pizza Kitchen, as well as chief operating officer and c.f.o. of U.S. Restaurant Properties, Inc. He started his career in the restaurant industry as c.f.o. of Spaghetti Warehouse, Inc. after working for 14 years in investment banking.
