LAKEVILLE-MIDDLEBORO, MASS. — The Ocean Spray Ingredient Technology Group has expanded its fruit ingredient portfolio with the introduction of a fruit sweetened dried cranberry. The new item offers the same processing advantages as Ocean Spray’s soft and moist sweetened dried cranberry, but eliminates the need to highlight sugar as an ingredient on a label. The company said pineapple is the fruit used to help sweeten the ingredient.
The company made the announcement during the Institute of Food Technologies’ Annual Meeting & Food Expo, taking place in Chicago through July 20.
“I.F.T. is a great platform to launch this exciting product,” said Marion Burton, marketing manager for Ocean Spray. “This latest addition to our extensive ingredient portfolio is based on customer demand for ingredients with all fruit appeal.”
