TOKYO — Starbucks Corp. and Ajinomoto General Food, Inc. plan to introduce coffee products this fall in retail outlets throughout Japan. Starbucks will introduce its Origami Personal Drip coffee system as well as Via Coffee Essence line in the country. It will be the first time Starbucks branded products have been available in Japan outside of Starbucks’ retail stores, according to the company.

The two companies announced the agreement for at-home coffee products in Japan this past May. In addition to the Starbucks Via brand and Origami system, Starbucks also will offer its ground and packaged coffees as part of the program.

Starbucks has been aggressive in its global expansion this year. In March, the company introduced the Via brand in the United Kingdom. It also introduced the brand in its Japanese retail outlets this past April.
