CARSON, CALIF. — Uncle Ben’s, a Mar’s Inc. brand, has introduced Whole Grain White Rice in six plain and flavored varieties: long grain, creamy chicken, broccoli cheddar, sweet tomato, garden vegetable and taco.
“Our consumer research shows that moms are tired of meal-time battles when it comes to getting their kids to eat healthy,” said Sean Silk, marketing director for Uncle Ben’s. “They know they need to serve whole grains at the dinner table but the reality is most kids will not eat brown rice. Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice was developed to give moms (and dads) everywhere a little help in the kitchen. The product is a good source of fiber, whole grains, and offers the familiar taste and texture of white rice. It is whole grain goodness parents can feel good about serving, with the taste everyone will love.”
Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice takes 10 minutes to prepare and ranges from 38 grams of whole grains per serving for the taco variety to 47 grams of whole grains for the creamy chicken variety. All of the varieties also are considered good sources of fiber and are cholesterol free.
