CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell Soup Co. has entered an agreement with Symington’s to launch Campbell’s-branded dry soups and pasta and rice meals in the United Kingdom. Symington’s is one of the U.K.’s oldest food brands and produces dry products under its own brand, under license and for private label customers.
“We are excited to have Symington’s as a partner in the U.K. market,” said John Sechi, Campbell’s president for Greater Europe. “They have strong customer relationships and share our heritage and commitment to producing top-quality foods that delight consumers.”
The new products include instant cup soups, dry simmer soups, dry instant rice, and pasta and sauce dishes. Specifically, the products will be available starting in mid-January and will include 12 varieties of cup soups, including cream of tomato, cream of chicken and cream of mushroom; simmer soups, including potato and leek and chicken noodle; four savory rice varieties, including chicken and sweet corn and golden vegetable; and four varieties of savory pasta and sauce, including chicken and mushroom and tomato and herb.
“Campbell's is a great brand and one that is widely recognized in the U.K.,” said David Salkeld, chief executive officer for Symington’s. “It’s a trusted name that is loved by consumers for consistently delivering quality products that are convenient and easy to prepare. We’re thrilled to be joining forces with Campbell to introduce this new range of products.”
