CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell Soup Co. has added 8 new varieties to its line of Campbell’s Healthy Request soups, bringing the total number of varieties in the lineup to 33. The 8 new soups are among 35 new products Campbell is introducing in its U.S. Soup and Simple Meals business this fall.
Campbell said all of the Healthy Request soups contain 410 mg of sodium per serving, meet U.S. government criteria for healthy foods and display the American Heart Association’s heart-check mark.
“We’ve seen a growing interest in heart-healthy foods and that’s been underscored by the growth of our Healthy Request line,” said Karen DeJesus, business director for Campbell Soup. She noted a 21% compound annual sales growth of Healthy Request soups over the past five years. “We wanted to build on the success of this line by significantly expanding it to offer even more delicious, heart-healthy versions of peoples’ favorite Campbell’s soups.”
The new soup varieties include:
•Two Campbell’s condensed Healthy Request varieties: bean with bacon soup and cheddar cheese soup.
•Two Campbell’s Select Harvest Healthy Request varieties: harvest tomato with basil soup and whole grain pasta fagioli soup.
•Four Chunky Healthy Request varieties: hearty Italian-style wedding soup; beef with country vegetables soup; split pea and ham soup; and roasted chicken with country vegetables soup.
