Dole launches frozen fruit, smoothie products

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CALIF. — Dole is introducing Dole Fruit Smoothie Shakers and Dole Frozen Fruit Single-Serve Cups.

“Now more than ever consumers are looking for a variety of options that fit into a healthy diet,” said Paul Panza, marketing director at Dole. “By developing frozen products like our Fruit Smoothie Shakers and Frozen Fruit Single-Serve Cups that are made with real fruit and all-natural ingredients, we can give consumers new and easy ways to add fruit to their diet with the convenience and value they have come to expect from Dole.”

The smoothie shakers are made with frozen yogurt beads and fruit. A consumer removes the product from the freezer, adds their favorite juice and shakes for 30 to 40 seconds for a smoothie without the blender. The shakers are available in strawberry banana, strawberry and mixed berry varieties. The product will be available in April for a suggested retail price of $2.19.

The fruit cups have no added sugars or preservatives and may be eaten as a snack, used in smoothies, a topping on yogurt or granola, or used as a recipe ingredient. It will be available in April in blueberry, strawberry and pineapple varieties for a suggested retail price of $2.49 to $2.79 for two-2-oz cups.
