VEVY, SWITZERLAND — Nestle Waters is investing more than $54.5 million for a new facility in Buxton, United Kingdom.

The facility will combine the Nestle Waters U.K. bottling facility with a warehousing capability, and it is slated to open in the spring of 2012.

“Demand for our bottled water brands has seen double-digit growth over the last three years,” said Paolo Sangiorgi, managing director of Nestle Waters U.K. “This major investment … clearly demonstrates our commitment to our market-leading portfolio of bottled water. The innovative design of the site will enable us to reduce our energy and water consumption significantly, making our business sustainable for the long term.”

The new bottling lines will reduce the site’s total energy output as well as produce the lightest weight bottled water bottles in the United Kingdom.
