Disney to extend branded fruit and vegetable line

GLENDALE, CALIF. — Disney Consumer Products is expanding its produce offering to make Disney-branded produce more widely available and offer more product variety. As part of the effort, Disney will make packaging changes to its branded produce, including an update to the logo; placement of nutritional information on the front of packaging; and the addition of the Disney Magic of Healthy Living logo.
Additionally, during the next year, Disney said its produce licensees will introduce several new Disney-branded products, and Disney will collaborate with Minneapolis-based Golden Sun Marketing to enter into new license agreements with fresh produce growers and shippers.
The news comes six months after Disney announced the Magic of Healthy Living — a national multimedia initiative designed to help parents raise healthy children. The initiative includes public service announcements featuring First Lady Michelle Obama and young Disney stars, discussing how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
