Takasago Flavors adds to staff

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. — Takasago Americas has added four flavor professionals to its staff.

Michael J. Paul was named senior marketing coordinator. He will assist Maria Carluzzo, marketing manager, Beverages and Savory, and Sue Harrison, marketing manager, Confectionery and Oral Care. Mr. Paul previously worked in marketing for NY Sportimes, PharmAdura, Pfizer and URS Corp. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in marketing from St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, N.Y.

Shweta Kumari has been named flavor sensory analyst and will be responsible for conducting sensory descriptive, discriminative and consumer tests. Previously she was a research assistant at Mississippi State University, where she is a Ph.D. candidate.

Slavica Pesic-Klajn has been named senior beverage technologist. Her work experience includes developing iced tea, fruit nectar and soda formulations; developing vitamin and energy drinks for the Asian market; and developing customized spirits. Ms. Pesic-Klajn received a bachelor’s of science degree as an engineering technologist from the University of Belgrade in Serbia.

John Zanone has been named senior flavorist, Oral Care Flavors. He will oversee the development of new oral care flavors. He previously worked for Norville as a chemist. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from the University of Miami.
