SEATTLE — The Field Roast Grain Meat Co. has introduced a vegetarian frankfurter that is made with grains, garlic, seasonings and a combination of vegetable oils.
“We want to reinvigorate the stale and much maligned vegetarian hot dog category by creating a real frankfurter rooted in tradition that is moist and flavorful — there’s really nothing else like it,” said David Lee, president of the company.
The new product has a suggested retail price of $5.49 for a package of six.
Founded in 1997, Field Roast processes a variety of vegetarian products, including roasts, cutlets, sausages and “meatloaf.”
