Kraft adds cauliflower to new mac and cheese item

NORTHFIELD, ILL. — Kraft Foods Inc. has introduced Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner Veggie Pasta. Available in two flavors — original and three cheese — the new pastas include the equivalent of a 1/2 serving (1/4 cup) of cauliflower per cup of product.
The company freeze-dries cauliflower and pulverizes it into a powder, then uses that powder to replace some of the flour in the pasta.
The suggested retail price for a 5.5-oz box is $1.49.
