FutureCeuticals opens research facility

MOMENCE, ILL. — FutureCeuticals, Inc. has opened Applied BioClinical, Inc., a research facility in Irvine, Calif. The facility will be able to measure the acute and single-dose effect of products on a range of biologically relevant targets, including a host of biomarkers associated with such issues as inflammation, aging, cardiovascular conditions and metabolic conditions.

Zbigniew Pietrzkowski, Ph.D., will serve as chief science officer at the facility after serving for 11 years as vice-president of research and development at Momence-based FutureCeuticals. During his time with the company Dr. Pietrzkowski has designed and implemented a research platform for the identification of biomarker-specific activity of fruit, vegetable and grain-based products and ingredients.
