UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS — Sara Lee has named Luc Volatier senior vice-president of supply chain and operations of its International Coffee and Tea business.

“Luc’s entrepreneurial drive and supply-chain acumen will help our international coffee and tea business continue to bring exciting products to consumers with greater efficiency in an increasingly demanding global marketplace,” said Michiel Herkemij, chief executive officer of International Coffee and Tea. “We are pleased to have him join us as we create a pure-play, publicly-traded company focused on coffee and tea.”

Mr. Volatier will start in the position on April 1 and will be in charge of all procurement, supply chain and manufacturing operations, and he will continue in the same role once the International Coffee and Tea business is spun-off from Sara Lee during the first half of 2012. Mr. Volatier most recently was with GrandVision B.V., where he was vice-president of global supply chain.
