Starbucks breaks ground on $172 million facility

AUGUSTA, GA. – The Starbucks Coffee Co. has begun construction on a $172 million facility that will manufacture VIA Ready Brew and ready-to-drink beverages when it is completed in early 2014. The facility will be the company’s fifth in the United States
The 180,000-square-foot facilty will be LEED-certified and employ 140, according to the company.
Starbucks other manufacturing facilities are in Carson Valley, Nev., York, Pa., Sandy Run, S.C., and Kent, Wash.
