Agave ingredient is 90% inulin

BioAgave agave active fiber, a new plant-derived source of inulin, provides functionalities and stability, particularly in liquid form, according to GTC Nutrition, Golden, Colo. Derived from the Blue Weber agave plant in Mexico, the ingredient is 90% inulin.

"This addition to our ingredient portfolio complements our digestive health offerings and allows us to provide a variety of fiber sources as well as unique fiber blends to address top consumer health concerns," said Patrick Smith, president of GTC Nutrition.

A collaborative effort between GTC Nutrition and Mexico-based CPIngredients, both affiliates of Corn Products International, Inc., led to the launch of BioAgave.
