MONTREAL — Saputo Inc. will close its cheese manufacturing plant in Saint-Boniface, Quebec, the company announced today. The plant will cease to operate on July 29, and its activities will be integrated into those of other Saputo facilities, the company said.

In all, 35 employees will be affected, some of whom may be transferred to company plants elsewhere.

The decision stems from a continuous process of analysis of the company's activities as a whole and the implementation of measures aimed primarily at improving Saputo’s operational efficiency, the company said.
