GREEN BAY, WIS. — Dairy leader Schreiber Foods has acquired Hilltop Valley Dairy, a yogurt producer based in Richland Center, Wis. With this acquisition, Schreiber gains a strategic foothold in the fast-growing yogurt category.
"We’re very excited to be able to supply our customers with yogurt products," said Larry Ferguson, president and chief executive officer of Schreiber Foods. "With Hilltop’s yogurt expertise and Schreiber’s scale and service capabilities, we’ll be able to serve our customers better than ever with an even broader product line."
Dan LaValley, president of Hilltop, is joining Schreiber as president of its new Yogurt Division.
"We now have a platform for growth we only dreamed of on our own," Mr. LaValley said. "We’re looking forward to building additional yogurt production capabilities in the Schreiber network and earning the yogurt business of a much broader customer base."
Further terms of the transaction, which is effective immediately, were not disclosed. Both companies are privately held.
