LE MARS, IOWA — Wells’ Dairy, maker of Blue Bunny ice cream, novelties and fresh dairy yogurt, has partnered with Weight Watchers International, Inc. to produce a new line of Weight Watchers-branded yogurt and smoothies. This is the second partnership between the two companies. Wells’ Dairy also produces the Weight Watchers line of ice cream novelties.
Weight Watchers yogurt, sold in 6-oz single-serve cups, will be available in nine flavors: vanilla, strawberry, black cherry, blueberry, peach, raspberry, key lime pie, lemon cream pie and strawberry banana. Each serving contains only 100 calories and has only one "Points" value, for Weight Watchers members who incorporate the Points Weight-Loss System into their weight-loss plan.
Weight Watchers smoothies, also made from a healthful mix of fruit and fat-free yogurt, are the perfect treat with a low Points value for those on the go. The 7-oz smoothies are sold in 4-packs, and each bottle is only one Points value. Weight Watchers smoothies will be available in four flavors: strawberry, raspberry, mixed berry and strawberry banana.
These new Weight Watchers-branded products may be found in refrigerated supermarket yogurt sections nationwide beginning in January. The yogurt cups will sell for 79c each and the smoothies for $3.79 per 4-pack.
The yogurts and smoothies are the latest addition to the Weight Watchers line of products, which includes bread, cereals, chocolate candies, ice cream treats, snack cakes and muffins.
