Sargento promotes five

PLYMOUTH, WIS. — Sargento Foods Inc. has announced the promotions of five key individuals: Sue Peterson, Mike McEvoy, Chip Schuman, Mark Gumm and Mike Sokol.
"Each of these promotions recognize the importance of these key roles and each employee’s superior performance," said Lou Gentine, chairman and chief executive officer of Sargento. "We are pleased to have them on our team and are confident they will continue to contribute in an outstanding manner to our ongoing success."
Ms. Peterson was named vice-president of information technology. Her past roles at Sargento have included positions as credit manager, assistant treasurer and senior director of information technology.
Mike McEvoy was promoted to vice-president of Portionables integration. Mr. McEvoy has held various cross-functional positions since joining Sargento in 1997, including production manager, transportation manager, trade promotion manager and marketing manager of the Consumer Products Division. His most recent assignment included identifying Portionables, a leading manufacturer of high-quality frozen sauce and other value-added food products, needs and aligning policies, procedures and resources with those of Sargento.
Chip Schuman was named vice-president of marketing for the Consumer Products Division. Mr. Schuman joined Sargento in 2003 as director of core business marketing for the Consumer Products Division.
Mark Gumm was promoted to vice-president of sales for the Consumer Products Division. Since joining Sargento in 1996, Mr. Gumm has held increasingly responsible positions in marketing and sales, most recently as senior director of sales for the Consumer Products Division.
Mike Sokol was promoted to vice-president of sales for the Consumer Products Division. Mr. Sokol joined Sargento Specialty Foods in 1993 as national sales manager of specialty markets. Most recently he was senior director of sales in the Consumer Products Division.
