HORSHOLM, DENMARK — Chr. Hansen has introduced a series of YoFlex and probiotic cultures developed specifically for drinkable yogurts. Application benefits include smoothness, a pleasant mouthfeel and the potential of removing starch/thickeners. The ingredients are available in the flavor profiles of mild, classic and twist. They allow dairy producers to create low-fat products that have a short ingredient list along with the probiotic health benefits of Bifidobacterium BB-12.

“Drinking yogurts are a great vehicle for providing probiotics to consumers, as they can be provided in adequate daily dosage in a convenient form,” said Sarita Bairoliya, global marketing manager, Probiotics, for Horsholm-based Chr. Hansen. “Consumers want the health benefit provided by the probiotic BB-12, but this must be in combination with good taste and texture, and this is exactly what the new cultures ensure.”
