PLYMOUTH, WIS. — Sargento Food Ingredients now offers reduced sodium processed cheese. Levels of sodium reduction vary depending upon application needs.

“We can reduce the sodium in our processed cheese by up to 40% without adversely affecting the flavor and without adding in sodium substitutes,” said Mike McEvoy, president of Plymouth-based Sargento Food Ingredients.

Flavor offerings include American, cheddar, Monterey Jack, Swiss and blends. Flavor profiles and melt characteristics may be adjusted for such products as meal kits, frozen entrees, sandwiches, meats and breakfast items.
