Dannon to expand Ohio yogurt plant

MINSTER, OHIO — The Dannon Co., a business unit of Groupe Danone, Paris, plans to expand its yogurt manufacturing facility in Minster. The company will invest more than $88 million in the expansion, according to the Dayton Business Journal.

Rather than focus on the details of the expansion, the Dannon Co. said incentives and grants provided by the state of Ohio that include tax credits for job creation, funding for training and reimbursements for investments in equipment will be phased in over a three year period.

The Minster plant is the company’s largest production facility and currently employs approximately 400. The plant manufactures a variety of Dannon products, including Activia, Danimals, Oikos and Light and Fit.
