Sonoma Creamery bought by Estate Cheese Group

SONOMIA, CALIF. — The Estate Cheese Group L.L.C. has acquired the Sonoma Creamery, a regional cheese manufacturer, from Pulmuone USA Inc., Fullerton, Calif. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Sonoma Creamery, formerly known as Sonoma Foods, Inc., was founded in 1931. The company manufactures a number of cheese varieties under the Sonoma Jack brand.

“Sonoma is a special brand,” said John Crean, president and chief executive officer of the Estate Cheese Group. “The outstanding family of Sonoma brand products and excellent longtime employees form the basis of a great investment for E.C.G. We intend to grow the company and build on Sonoma's longstanding heritage of innovation, quality and expertly crafted cheeses.”
