BATAVIA, N.Y. — PepsiCo, Inc., and Theo Muller Gmbh, through their joint venture Wave L.L.C., plan to build a yogurt manufacturing facility in Batavia. The venture will invest $206 million in the new facility, according to Governor Andrew M. Cuomo of New York.

“This project demonstrates that leading international companies like PepsiCo and Müller see New York as a premier place to invest and the natural choice for their first venture into the yogurt business,” Mr. Cuomo said. “With over $200 million in private investment and nearly 200 new jobs, this opportunity is another strong boost to the region's growing dairy industry.”

Construction of the facility is expected to be complete sometime in 2014.
