New technology reduces pathogen microbial growth

KEOKUK, IOWA — Allied Blending & Ingredients, Inc. has introduced SecureFlo pathogen inhibitor technology, a food grade powder designed to decrease the numbers of pathogens in a finished food product. SecureFlo extends the safe consumption period of shredded cheese products by reducing pathogen microbial growth, including Listeria, Salmonella and E. coli, while maintaining desired natural flavor and appearance, according to Keokuk-Based Allied Blending & Ingredients.

SecureFlo is delivered in anti-cake systems and is effective with both starch-based and cellulose-based anti-caking agents.
