Spicetec makes food safety appointments

OMAHA — Spicetec Flavors & Seasonings has made organizational changes designed to strengthen its food safety and quality support. Lachell Petty, Rebeca Hard and Ron Funk all have been named senior quality specialists.
Ms. Petty has 13 years of experience in the meat processing industry. Most recently she was the quality assurance manager at a ConAgra Foods’ facility in Macon, Mo. She will move to the Omaha facility. Ms. Petty received a bachelor’s of science degree in biology from the University of Mississippi.
Ms. Hard has a background in research and development for both consumer packaged goods and food service companies. Her focus in flavors, seasoning blends and food chemicals equips her for the role of senior quality specialist, enterprise supplier quality, according to Omaha-based Spicetec Flavors & Seasonings, a business of ConAgra Foods. Ms. Hard joined ConAgra Foods last August.
Mr. Funk has more than 20 years of food industry experience. He joined Spicetec Flavors & Seasonings in 2009 and became the center point for quality and food safety issue resolution. He has supported commercial supplier quality in auditing suppliers of Spicetec Flavors & Seasonings.
