November egg product up 8% from 2009

WASHINGTON — The total amount of edible liquid product from shell eggs broken in November was 212,729,000 lbs, down 4% from October but up 8% from the previous year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Egg Products report.
November production of edible whole eggs was 136,333,000 lbs, up 4% from November 2009; liquid whites were 50,733,000 lbs, up 18%; liquid yolks were 25,663,000 lbs, up 13%; and inedible product was 18,078,000 lbs, up 8%.
Edible liquid product produced during the January-November period was 2,456,156,000 lbs, up 3% from the previous year, the U.S.D.A. said. Liquid whole eggs totaled 1,558,527,000 lbs, up 3%; liquid whites were 599,999,000 lbs, up 5%; liquid yolks were 297,630,000 lbs, up 1%; and inedible product was 211,361,000 lbs, up 5%.
Shell eggs broken in November totaled 164,741,000 dozen, down 6% from October but up 9% from the previous year. Shell eggs broken in the January–November period totaled 1,896,247,000 dozen, up 4% from the same period of 2009.
