NAMA sees soft red production up 63%

MARCO ISLAND, FLA. — The Soft Wheat Division of the North American Millers’ Association meeting at Marco Island on Tuesday projected soft red winter wheat production in 2011 at 388,364,000 bus, up 150,560,000 bus, or 63%, from 237,804,000 bus last year but down 15,620,000 bus, or 4%, from 403,984,000 bus in 2009. The millers projected soft white wheat production in 2011 at 217,635,000 bus, up 2,036,000 bus, or 1%, from 215,599,000 bus in 2010 and up 35,198,000 bus, or 19%, from 182,437,000 bus in 2009.
