ORLANDO, FLA. — Beverages might qualify for whole grain claims, and frozen desserts and frostings might feature whole grain nutrition thanks to new patent-pending ingredients from Creative Research Management, Stockton, Calif.
The company has created a technology that produces whole grain concentrates and powders. The ingredients produce smooth emulsions that contain soft, nonabrasive soluble and insoluble fibers without chewy or pulpy texture.
The company featured the RiceLife and GrainLife ingredients last month at the Institute of Food Technologists’ Annual Meeting and Food Expo in Orlando. Creative Research Management displayed orange juice and cranberry juice with 8 grams of whole grains per 8-oz serving, enough to qualify for a Whole Grains Council stamp.
