DALLAS — The American Heart Association has launched an on-line tool to help restaurant operators and food service professionals minimize industrially produced trans fat in foods.
The tool is designed to help restaurants switch to healthier alternative oils and fats that don’t replace trans fat with saturated fat. In addition, it has guidance and resources, including operating tips, lists and profiles of oils and fats with "0 grams trans fat per serving" as well as manufacturer contact information.
The tool may be found by clicking on the "Face the Fats Restaurant Resources" section on AmericanHeart.org/FaceTheFats.
