Caffeination innovation

For consumers who want a jolt without the java, there’s caffeine-enhanced water from brands including Hydrive Energy Water and Avitae USA. The latter offers a line of beverages featuring patented beads that gradually release caffeine over a four-hour period.

Bubbl’r Antioxidant Sparkling Water contains caffeine from white tea extract and has 5 calories per can. Flavors include blood orange mango, cranberry grapefruit, pomegranate acai and passion fruit.

With 150 milligrams of caffeine per can, Zest Tea is a sparkling “high octane tea” in flavors such as pomito lime, citrus hibiscus and masala chai.

New from Mars, Inc. is Alert Caffeine Gum in fruit and mint flavors. Each piece contains 40 milligrams of caffeine, the equivalent of half of a cup of coffee.
