AUSTIN, TEXAS — NadaMoo!, maker of premium dairy-free coconut milk frozen desserts, has raised $4 million in a Series A financing round led by InvestEco Capital. The funds will help NadaMoo! expand into additional retailers in the United States and internationally, the company said, as well as grow its team in Austin.
NadaMoo! is a plant-based, dairy-free, gluten-free, G.M.O.-free frozen dessert made with organic coconut milk. The product launched in Whole Foods Market in 2005, and it is available in such flavors as chocolate peanut butter, birthday cake cookie dough and Himalayan salted caramel. Sweetened with agave nectar, NadaMoo! contains about half the fat and calories of regular ice cream and similar dairy-free alternatives, the company said. NadaMoo! also seeks to use organic, G.M.O.-free, Fair Trade Certified and gluten-free ingredients whenever possible, the company said, “in support of a fair, sustainable and contaminant-free food chain.”
